The Glan-Taylor polarizer is a polarization optical component designed based on the principle of birefringence. It consists of two birefringent crystal prisms with parallel optical axes. The angle between the inclined surfaces of the prisms is designed according to the refractive index, so that the ordinary light (o light) and extraordinary light (e light) separated at the bonding surface, thereby achieving the separation of polarized light. Its application scenarios include polarized light microscopes, material surface stress analyzers, and polarization state detection in optical communications.
