PRODUCT
Detail
Wollaston polarizer is made of two birefringent crystals prism cemented together. The optical axes of these two crystals are perpendicular to each other and form a certain angle with the direction of the incident light. When a non-polarized light beam is incident on theWollaston polarizer, according to the birefringence characteristics of the crystals, the light will be separted into ordinary light (O light) and extraordinary light (E light). Due to the different optical axis directions of the two crystals, the propagation directions of O light and E light will change when passing through the second crystal, thus causing the two beams of light to separate into two linearly polarized beams with perpendicular vibration directions. Yttrium vanadate, Quartz crystals, MgF2 crystals, a-BBO crystals, and Calcite crystals can all be used as materials for the Walston polarizer. Different materials have different separation angles at different wavelengths.
